Core Skills for Digital Accessibility

Welcome to the second lesson of the Digital Accessibility online course – Core Skills for Accessibility.

Congratulation on the successful completion of the first lesson.

We already know by now, what is digital accessibility, what are its principles, who needs digital accessibility, and how different groups of people use the computer as per their requirement.

Next, we are going to learn how to make documents accessible. But before working on a document in software like Microsoft word or Google drive we will first learn about the six aspects or skills that affect the accessibility of a document.  This will make us easier to work on related topics in the practical lessons.

In this lesson we will learn about following aspects:

  • Heading Styles and Document Structure
  • Hyperlinks
  • Bullets and Numbered Lists
  • Table Structures
  • Image Description and Alternative Texts.
  • Proper use of colors

We will look at why these topics are more important and what role they play in digital accessibility.

Are you ready?

Let’s start then!
