Proper Use of Colors and Color Contrast

Proper use of colors is also an important thing to remember for making accessible documents. Here in this chapter, we will learn how to use colors properly.

There are primarily two things to remember while using colors. The first is we should not use the color itself to indicate something important. And another thing is that there should be proper color contrast between the background color and the foreground text.

For example, if the Red color is used for indicating Important in the document, we should select that color text and do Bold and Underline.

Similarly, in the case of color contrast, we have to use a dark color in the foreground text if the background color is bright and use bright color in the foreground text if the background color is dark.

Using white color in the background and dark black color in the foreground text is the appropriate color contrast, and it is accessible as well.

In Google Docs, The same process and points are applied. We should Bold and Underline in the color text and should use contrasting colors between the front text and background color. White color in background and black in the foreground text is the accessible and appropriate color contrast here in Google Docs.
